17 weeks, 5 days

And not a single picture of my baby bump to show for it.  I think I need to fix that!  This pregnancy is going a bit differently for me than the last one.  I think I feel better (hard to really remember, afterall, baby sucks on brain), I am gaining weight at a slower pace (yay!), and I think I'm carrying this one a little differently too.  My guess?  Baby is a boy.

The past month was jam packed full of fun (and not so fun) activities.

September:

Vacation!!!

Packed the car, hopped in and headed down to Destin, Florida for our first vacation in over two years.  We got to the condo at about 3 pm or so.  We quickly changed and headed straight down to the beach.  Annabelle was absolutely enamored by the birds and the giant sandbox and pool (aka the beach).  We were meeting one of my oldest friends Lauren for dinner that night, so it was just a quick little trip to the beach.  We then headed back up to the condo to get ready for dinner.  I went ahead and gave Annabelle a bath while Andy showered.  At one point, Annabelle stood up in the bathtub, I told her to sit down so she doesn't slip and what does she do?  She slips and her chin slams into the sharp edge of the bathtub.  She managed to slice open her chin to the point where there was no question we were going to have to rearrange our evening a bit.  After a little trip to the ER, we had our first stitches in our little girl.

The rest of vacation was much less eventful (thankfully).  We rescheduled dinner with Lauren to the next morning for brunch.  Had a really great time - so nice to catch up!  Although, I was a bit of a zombie from not sleeping well the night before.  Such is life.  The rest of the week we spent at the beach, taking walks, shopping at the outlet mall and eating yummy food.  We kept it pretty low key and really enjoyed it!

Back to reality
The following Monday, Andy took Annabelle in to get her stitches removed and then dropped her off at daycare.  The work week was a bit slow going as it often is the week after vacation.  Friday morning we got the call from daycare that she split her chin back open again.  Andy was nice enough to swing by and pick her up, take her to the doctor's office where they just happened to be at lunch.  A nurse took a look at it and said, well, they might be able to glue it but if it needs stitches we'll have to refer you to a plastics guy at Children's.  Lovely.  He calls me, I head home and meet them back at the doctor's office for our 1:40 appointment.  The doc was actually super great.  She said there's nothing really to stitch, the wound is healing really well, and it just needs a spot of glue to hold it shut again.  Whew, dodged that bullet.

October:

Halloween is coming up!
So my crazy costume creating has begun.  Annabelle's going to be a ladybug this year - complete with a big red and black tutu and wings.  I still have a bit more work to do on it but it's starting to really come together.  We also found out that hte Friday before Halloween is costume day at daycare.  I am not going to send my not-quite-two-year old to school wearing wings and a tutu for the day.  Instead, Annabelle gets to have TWO costumes this year.  She will be a black cat at daycare.  I'm embroidering cat eyes/nose/whiskers onto a black t-shirt and making little black ear hair clippies to go in her hair.  She'll wear black pants and black shoes to complete the outfit.  I'm debating on the tail.

Baby shower for baby Morgan
This past weekend was a really nice baby shower for our neighbor Kim who is expecting her first this January.  Baby Morgan will definitely be a very spoiled little girl!  Kim got lots of great gear - a stroller, highchair, diaper pail, diaper cake (compliments of Lauren, Stacey & I), lots of blankets and books and some super sweet little girl clothes.  Kim's mother-in-law is making the bedding and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Pumpkin Patch!
This coming weekend, Andy & I are taking Annabelle to Barry Patch Farms to go on a hayride, pick out a pumpkin or two, and see the baby animals.  I am so excited to see what she does this year.  Last year she was not even a year old yet and had no interest.  In fact, she was a bit crabby the entire time which made for some of my favorite pouty face pictures of her.

Birthday Planning
Birthday party planning for Annabelle is in full swing.  We're going to keep the party relatively small this year - family and some neighbors plus her god parents (who are expecting their first baby!!).  Since she still doesn't' get the concept of birthdays and parties, I get to plan this one from start to finish!  There will be a lot of red, pink and orange in our house.  We're going with a super fun girlie ELMO theme!  Annabelle LOVES "melmo" and I can't wait to see her face when she sees Elmo's face plastered all over the place in the decorations.    I'm also making the cake this year and can't wait to see how awesome it turns out

Gender Reveal/Birthday Planning
Next Thursday we get to go and see our little baby for the first time.  I'll be right at about 19 weeks pregnant and can't wait!  Instead of finding out the gender of baby Turner at the ultrasound's office, we're going to have the tech write it down on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope.  We're then going to take the envelop to Publix and have them bake a cake with the icing layer either blue for boy or pink for girl.  On my birthday we're having our families and two closest neighbors over for dinner and the big reveal.  I am so so excited to find out if Annabelle's going to have a little sister to scheme (and fight) with or a little brother to tattle on.

And that's about all I have for now.  Fall time is amazingly busy for us between all the holidays, birthdays and football.  Let's hope we can start finding some time to relax and just enjoy the cooler weather.  I think I might have to start scheduling that in advance, too!
